What is Sage?
Sage
The scientific name of sage is Salvia officinalis, from the Latin word ‘salveo’ which means ‘salvation’, ‘to be in good health’, ‘saving’, ‘to heal’ and clearly describes the importance of sage in ancient medicine. Even during the time of Black Death in Europe, sage was believed to be one of the herbs able to protect against this deadly disease. In addition, throughout the history, it was also used for rheumatism, menstrual problems and digestive problems.

Benefits of Sage tea
Sage tea contains numerous health-promoting vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants: vitamin K, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper, volatile oils, flavonoids and phenolic acids which have anti-inflammatory properties. These properties of sage tea help in lowering any. The herb also has a long tradition as a remedy for indigestion, asthma, mouth sores and skin diseases.

The calming properties of sage tea have beneficial effects on improving cognitive measurements, as well as lessened agitation in healthy people as well as people with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease.
